Gadget Show Live 2012 - Parajet
Laptop, tablets and smartphones are all amazing device that help us accomplish wonderful things every day. Being honest though, no matter how good that new ultrabook looks or how responsive a touchscreen interface is, it can’t help you fly can it?
Enter Parajet, the people that can help you get airborne. The concept is a pretty simple one, attach a large parachute to a chair, add a giant fan on the back, and you have lift off! The controls of this personal flying machine are apparently very easy to get used to, and a major selling point of the device is the fact that it can fit into the boot of a standard car without too much messing around so you can drive to your nearest field and enjoy swooping through the skies whenever you fancy a flit.

The UK based company were founded in Wiltshire in 2000 by a group of flight enthusiasts and started by selling other companies equipment into the UK marketplace. The business has grown rapidly and the company are set to release a landmark product this year as they produce their first completely in house package of self-designed and produced hardware.
Parajet are no strangers to unusual and original methods of travel, they have recently been testing out their ‘Skycar’ project – a car that can take off in less than 200 meters on a field or runway, which the company claims is easier to fly than any other aircraft. By the way, it also looks like the coolest thing we have ever seen, and is a bargain at a mere £55,000, if you ask us.

Prices of these amazing contraptions start from £2,399 all the way up to £7,499 for something right at the top end and lessons are available around the country. More information is available on the Parajet website (http://www.parajet.com/), we look forward to seeing you on our commute to Geek Squad HQ somewhere over the leafy fields of the UK soon!
