How to find your SIM card number on an iPhone

Self help Mobiles Apple iPad

There are a number of reasons why you might need to find your iPhone's SIM card number. Sometimes you'll need to provide it to your mobile network for verification purposes, if you lose your phone, or if you need to log into an online service they provide.

This is easy to do when your phone has a removable back and battery – you just pop the SIM card out and flip it over. But what if your SIM is stuck in the tray slotted into the side of your iPhone, and you don't have the SIM tool to hand?

No problem! It's simply a matter of knowing where to look in the iPhone settings menu.

When will I need my SIM card number?

You will need your SIM card number if you ever need to speak to your mobile network to transfer your number or activate a new SIM. The number will be printed on the SIM card itself, but is very small – especially on the nano-SIMs used in newer iPhones. There is, however, an easy way to find the SIM card number, without having to remove it from the phone.

How to find your SIM card number on an iPhone

On an iPhone, the SIM card number is referred to as the 'Integrated Circuit Card ID' (ICCID) number.

To find your SIM card number, from the home screen:

  1. Tap Settings.
  2. Tap General.
  3. Tap About.
  4. The ICCID entry shows your SIM card number.
