My all-time favourite gadget has to be the iPhone.

I've had mine for about six months now and it still surprises me and excites me every day.

The apps have unfortunately taken over my life. I can play games all day, then I can do my expenses, I can fire up a Word document. The diversity of the machine that the apps provide is what makes the iPhone so fantastic.

Now because there are just so many apps, I'd always advise people to go to apps review sites. All the major technology websites check out the latest apps including T3.com which has a chart of the best at http://best-apps.t3.com/.

But you should also read the reviews in iTunes itself, left by other users after they've downloaded.

You can also pop into your nearest Carphone Warehouse or Best Buy store and speak to the Geek Squad Agent based there. We love to talk about technology and give helpful advice.

They'll be able to advise you on the best apps that work for your own specific needs and they'll certainly know what they are talking about.

My favourite app right now is one called Angry Birds. I've been playing it quite a lot, probably too much.
