Mobile network 3 has been named the UK's best mobile broadband provider.

It came out top in a survey by polling company YouGov beating rivals and coming No1 in 10 of the 12 quality rankings.

3 has the country's biggest 3G network covering more than 95% of the population.

The survey asked more than 2,000 customers from 3, Vodafone, Orange, O2 and T-Mobile to rate their mobile broadband on points including installation of software, network coverage, reliability during the day and during the evening, download speeds and ease of use.

The company's Director of Mobile Broadband Joe Parker said: "It is a customer endorsement of the massive investment we have been put into our network over the past two years and the speed at which this programme is developing. The network continues to grow in reach, speed and capacity."

If you haven't tried one out, check out 3's MiFi product. It's similar to a mobile broadband USB modem but it doesn't need to be plugged into the USB port. It is totally wireless and this means it can hook your iPad up to the internet too, wherever you are. Or it can connect to a Nintendo DS or Sony PSP handheld for multi-player gaming or web surfing. It's like having your own personal WiFi hotspot in your pocket and recently won Mac World's highly-coveted Best iPad accessory award.
