Geek Squad, Technology and Me!
- I was mistaken for the police once...
...and it can make for a lot of fun callouts that really brighten up your day. The funniest was when I went to someone's house and said 'Hi, I'm Agent Dave' and then flashed my Geek Squad badge at them. They panicked and thought I was a copper. From then on we had a real laugh about the quirkiness of Geek Squad. Our car is called the GeekMobile. We have that title fully trademarked. We are the proud owners of the only GeekMobiles out there! - It's a great way to meet new people...
...this is my favourite thing about this job. Almost every day of my life I'm out there getting to know someone I've never met before. Not only that but I get to help these people, which is a great way to meet. It's the best thing in the world really. Some of these people can be quite IT savvy but still need our help. Others have more basic needs. It's a great mix. We're here for everyone and even if we need to be with someone all day, we only charge one fee. - I'm always being asked for free tech help...
...my mates always want a freebie. I guess you can't help but take your work home with you in this game. I'm always doing stuff for friends, family, everyone. As soon as something's broken, I'm the guy who gets the call. A 45-hour week does not apply to me. I'm always giving out advice after I've clocked off.

Watch out for...
3D Technology
As well as now being made for your living room, 3D technology is being used more on the film front and for gaming too. It's the next big thing and we're already seeing it really begin to get a grip on the movie market with things like Avatar and Toy Story 3. Games are also being made for the PC and there's a 3D laptop due out. What will be interesting is to see how it makes the leap from the cinema to home entertainment as you'll need a new 3D player for the discs and it will be expensive but that's really going to start happening very soon now the TVs are out to buy.
My most satisfying Geek Squad moment...
...gaining the respect of a customer. When we leave their house, they won't just say to their neighbour 'Oh some tech guy came around to fix my computer', they'll say 'Agent Dave Micklewood from the Geek Squad popped over and fixed it'. They remember us for being quirky, knowledgeable and good at what we do.
WE CARE ABOUT TECHNOLOGY AND ABOUT YOU
Geek Squad is such a great service because we're so personal in what we do. We find out about the customer instead of providing a bland faceless experience. For me, everything about us just screams happiness and enjoyment.
