I worked for The Carphone Warehouse for five years and I've always been interested in new technology. So I jumped at the chance to join Geek Squad. I enjoy helping people and fixing things. I love it all.

Geek Squad, Technology and Me!

  • I'm a self-confessed Maccy...
...if Apple make it then I'm into it. I hate Microsoft Windows but of course, I know my way around it, and how to fix issues with it. To be perfectly honest with you I love my job, and I enjoy coming to work every day even if it is a day where I'm dealing with Windows!
  • I'm addicted to...
...laptops. I have five working laptops at the moment and I use them all, though not at the same time. I'm good, but not that good. I've also just ordered an Apple iPad, so if you count that as another one, I'll have six on the go very shortly.
  • My worst call out was...
...my first. It was a disaster. The client had a bit of software that I won't mention, but regularly causes us problems. This software actually removed the controller for the hard drive while I was trying to reboot it, and I had to phone our American Agents across the water for a "secret weapon" to help. We got there in the end, but it was a long process.
  • Apple iPhone

    Essential Gadget
    Apple iPhone

I love my iPhone and have an iPad on the way, which is even more exciting to play with.

  • Apple MacBook

No surprise here considering how much I love Macs but I use this all the time for computing.

  • Sony Ericsson Xperia X10

    I'd recommend...
    Sony Ericsson X10

I've just got one of these. It runs Android and I've been really pleased with what it does so far.

  • Notebook Samsung N140

    Watch out for...
    Improved netbook technology

It's going to be really exciting now Apple has launched the iPhone 4, but I think the main thing that we need to look out for is netbooks with slots in them so you can just pop in a SIM card and get data on the move as well. A few of these exist now but because the Apple iPad contains 3G, it will make sense to ensure all portable computers can get on the web wherever you are without having to rely on Wi-Fi. That'll be the next big step.

My most satisfying Geek Squad moment...

...that nightmare first service call. That's not just because I got through a lot of biscuits and about six cups of tea. When you get to the bottom of something that seems unclear after a real struggle, then it really does feel great personally and for the customer.
